Since opening in August 2024, Furry Bellies Pet Boutique has quickly become a favorite pitstop for local pet owners, thanks to its signature “puppuccinos” made with flavored, pet-safe whipped cream. Over the holidays, owner Brenda Lipps took the concept a step further by introducing an “espresso martini” for pets — a playful mix of whipped cream, goat milk, carob and a bone broth drizzle — served in a martini glass.
And the indulgence doesn’t stop at “drinks” — Furry Bellies also sells hand-decorated, human-grade pet treats brought in from a bakery in Lawrence, Kansas.
For Brenda, the real joy comes from seeing pets walk through the door, tails wagging and ready for their treat, but she also spends just as much care when it comes to selecting what’s on her shelves. Her commitment to high-quality, thoughtfully sourced products is just one of the ways she strives to offer the best for the pets of Teton Valley.
A Wealth of Knowledge
Brenda opened the pet store in the heart of Driggs at 225 S. Main St. after spending 10 years as a dog walker and countless hours as a volunteer at animal shelters. With everything she’s learned along the way, she loves being able to help customers find the perfect products for their beloved pets.
“The biggest thing for me is customer service, it’s my number one priority,” Brenda said. “I'm going to give you all the knowledge that I have, and if I don't have the knowledge, I will research it for you to try to come up with an answer.”
Not only is she passionate about the products, but she also holds the highest standards for anything she stocks on the shelves. She strives to purchase only items that are made in the U.S. or Canada and are from women-owned businesses or businesses that give back to their communities or support pet rescue operations.
“I'm very conscious and aware of who I'm carrying,” she said.
Furry Bellies offers quality pet foods including harder-to-find freeze dried and frozen foods, as well as a plethora of treats such as bully sticks, raw bones and antlers. It also stocks collars, leashes and harnesses, as well as seasonal apparel such as dresses, shirts and jackets for pets.
When Brenda first decided to open the pet store, she felt that one of the most important items to have on the shelves was mental stimulation toys for cats and dogs. While she carries a variety of items, she’s found that the most popular enrichment toy for dogs is the refillable Woof Pupsicles, which Brenda says are in such high demand she can barely keep them in stock.
“It's the best invention ever, because when I first gave it to my dog, it took him an hour to get through it,” she said. “I would highly recommend it.”
As Furry Bellies approaches its one-year anniversary this summer, Brenda reflected on the incredible support she’s received from her husband and close friends, Claudia and Karl, crediting them as essential to her journey. She’s also deeply grateful for the warm embrace from the local community. Business has been thriving, and she’s built strong connections with many regular customers — and their pets.
“I just really want to help people and their pets live a full and enriching life together,” she said. “Nobody loves us like our animals, at least that’s my opinion.”
