Jackson Hole locals are known for pushing their limits: in athleticism, creativity, work ethic and more. A true testament to the adage “work hard, play hard,” stopping off for a libation or bite after a long day on the slopes or at work is embedded in mountain culture. Jackson Hole offers an abundance of options for this après-ski tradition — here are a few standouts.

Mangy Moose — Teton Village
A happening spot for live music and libations in Teton Village, the Mangy Moose has been slinging drinks to thirsty skiers since 1967. At that time, it was practically the only place to belly up to a bar in Teton Village, and it opened with a mouthful of a moniker — the “Mangy Moose Saloon Spaghetti Emporium and Opera House.” Now affectionately known to locals as “The Moose,” it has only grown in popularity even as a plethora of bars opened around it over the years. With its location at the bottom of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, it has become world-renowned for its après-ski scene, offering a lively entertainment schedule throughout the season.

Handle Bar — Teton Village
Tucked in the gorgeous Four Seasons Jackson Hole, the Handle Bar Restaurant & Pub is a relaxed and inviting spot to unwind after a day on the slopes. The menu’s full of pub-style favorites with a sophisticated twist, perfect for sharing and recounting the day’s adventures. The bar offers up a diverse selection of domestic and international beers as well as plenty of handcrafted cocktails to warm the spirit.

The Bistro at Alpenhof — Teton Village
Become a traditional Austrian “lokal” for an afternoon inside the lively Bistro at Alpenhof. A popular Teton Village après-ski hangout, patrons are welcomed with the sight of cowbells and ceramic beer steins hanging over the bar, and the sounds of traditional Austrian folk and Schuhplattler music. Share a fondue and “wurst” with friends in this traditional Alpine-style lodge.

Tram Dock — Teton Village
After a day on the hill, the Jackson Hole adventure continues at Tram Dock, one of the newest eateries in Teton Village. Walk through the doors of one of the original tram cars into a vibrant après scene.  Located at the base of the aerial tram in the heart of Teton Village, Tram Dock not only serves a great menu of food and drinks but a connection to Jackson Hole’s culture both past and present. Kick back on the comfortable patio, or enjoy music and drinks at the four-sided bar inside.

StillWest Brewery & Grill — Jackson, WY
For those spending the day at Snow King Resort, head across the street to StillWest Brewery & Grill. The open-air patio seating offers unbeatable slopeside views, as does the indoor seating with a wall of floor-to-ceiling glass windows. Enjoy on-site brewed craft beer, cocktails and a full dining experience with made-from-scratch menu items sourced from local purveyors. Or head to the ground floor for the dog-friendly StillWest Tap Room where you can drink a pint and grab a small bite.

Stagecoach Bar — Wilson, WY
A Jackson Hole landmark since 1942, the Stagecoach Bar has long been a popular gathering spot for locals, and a “must-do” for visitors. At the bottom of Teton Pass, “The Coach” offers boisterous nightly entertainment, from disco nights to full bands.

Spur Bar at Dornan’s — Moose, WY
Located inside Grand Teton National Park, the Spur Bar is a perfect stop after a day of exploring within the park’s boundaries. With massive windows facing the Tetons, your après cocktail comes with a killer view. Hungry? Order a pizza from The Pizza & Pasta Co. adjacent to the bar.

West Side Yard — Victor, Idaho
For a noteworthy stop on the West side of the Tetons, check out West Side Yard in Victor, Idaho. Quench your thirst with local and regional brews or choose from a selection of craft cocktails. The restaurant offers something for everyone with sandwiches, tacos, salads and more, and West Side Yard routinely hosts live entertainment.
