Purple Mountains Majesty: The Perfect 4th of July in Jackson Hole
18 Jun 2025
From sunrise to sunset, we've planned out the ideal 4th of July in the Tetons
Summer/Fall 2025
Jackson Hole is truly the perfect place to spend Independence Day. With the Tetons as a spectacular backdrop, the community revels in an unforgettable celebration of national heritage. Here’s our perfect 4th of July in Jackson Hole — we’ll see you there!
8:30 a.m. — Head down to the iconic Town Square in the heart of downtown Jackson Hole to kick off your 4th of July right. From 8-10 a.m., the local Lions Club will be serving up piping hot pancakes, sausage and eggs right from the griddle. It’s the ideal way to fuel up for a day of celebratory fun!
9:45 a.m. — Settle into your spot for the 4th of July Parade! This festive, family-friendly celebration of Western spirit snakes from the Fairgrounds through downtown to the Town Square. Take in all the horses, unique vehicles, wild costumes, creative floats assembled by local businesses and plenty more.
11:00 a.m. — Walk to Pearl Street Market, just a block from the Town Square, and order up some gourmet sandwiches and snacks to-go. Made on delectable bread from the local 460 bakery, the lineup is tough to beat. Our favorites include the Italian (mortadella, salami, capicola, Provolone, tomato, banana peppers, roasted red peppers, red onion, arugula, Italian dressing, mayo) and the Caprese (fresh Mozzarella, tomato, balsamic, olive oil, fresh basil).
11:30 a.m. — Head north to Grand Teton National Park. Options for great spots in the national park abound, of course, but on the 4th of July, we’re partial to spots on the water. If you’re craving a bit of a pre-lunch hike, aim for Taggart Lake or Phelps Lake. If something with easier access fits the bill, try Jenny or Jackson Lake. Don’t forget to pack some towels and swimsuits! There’s nothing like a dip in a crisp mountain lake on a hot afternoon.
4:00 p.m. — Head back to town for a quick shower and change of clothes.
5:30 p.m. — Return to downtown Jackson Hole. Dip into Local for handcrafted cocktails and a mouthwatering dinner featuring locally-sourced ingredients. We adore their gourmet burgers, but you can’t go wrong with any of their beautifully created dishes.
7:00 p.m. — Walk toward Snow King Mountain, stopping off at the field behind the Center for the Arts to enjoy the live music of Patriotic Pops presented by the Grand Teton Music Festival. It’s a relaxed, family-friendly showcase of upbeat and festive music performed by celebrated musicians.
8:30 p.m. — Continue on to Snow King Mountain to enjoy more live music. If you’re hungry, peruse the lineup of local food trucks on site, or sip on a refreshing beverage while you celebrate.
10:00 p.m. — Settle into the grass in the baseball field at the foot of Snow King Mountain to enjoy a breathtaking fireworks show! We may be biased, but we think it’s one of the best in the nation.
1o:45 p.m. — Not quite ready to call it a night? We hear you. Traverse the couple of blocks back to the Town Square and check out the iconic Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. Saddle up to the bar and enjoy a classic cocktail or take a spin on the dance floor. It’s the perfect way to wrap up an unforgettable 4th of July in Jackson Hole!
