Longtime Jackson resident Hillary Munro comes from a line of innovative women. As a child, she spent summers learning from her grandmother in rural Oregon — foraging for wild blackberries, making preserves, canning trout from the river and sewing. Her mother, who co-founded Snake River Brewing in the early 1990s, instilled in her both an entrepreneurial spirit and the confidence to embrace new ideas.
A designer, creator, entertainer, gardener, author and successful businesswoman — among many other attributes — Hillary channels her creativity into every corner of her life. Inspired by nature, she finds beauty in simple treasures discovered outdoors, often foraging for materials to weave into her designs, her gatherings and even the way she decorates her home each season.

“I've always been a super creative person, and I believe I inherited that from my mother and my grandmother,” Hillary said from her home in Jackson, where she lives with her husband, two children, four horses, three dogs and chickens. “I've always enjoyed working with my hands, whether it be building a garden, creating unique gifts, foraging on a hike or making arrangements.”
Following the birth of her children just over a decade ago, Hillary began developing her brand, Graze, through interior design, small-event styling and handcrafted gifts. The venture allowed her to continue expressing her creative passions after closing her small retail shop on town square, Bet the Ranch, to devote more time to her family.
From crafting custom centerpieces to gifting jars of crab apple jelly from her own trees, Hillary has long elevated her own gatherings with thoughtful touches — making her brand a natural extension of herself.
These days, Hillary has refocused her energy on small-business ownership. Three and a half years ago, she purchased a long-standing Jackson business known as Twigs, renaming the operation Graze Garden & Home. The full-service garden center stocks all the essentials for creating and cultivating beautiful outdoor spaces, along with carefully curated gifts and seasonal decor.

Open year-round, her selections rotate with the seasons, offering annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs and more in the spring and summer, transitioning to pumpkins and holiday decor in the fall and winter. Often she brings in antiques found in her travels, or European vintage pottery. Fresh flower arrangements and delivery, workshops and planting services are also part of the business model.
The garden center allows her to use her creativity daily, whether it’s transitioning displays from season to season, hosting workshops or hand-picking items that will go on the shelf.
“Purchasing Graze was probably the best thing that my creative Gemini spirit could have ever done,” she said. “It's been a way for my personality to kind of shine through in different aspects.”

Hillary recently published her first book, “Alpenglow: Outdoor Celebrations for Every Season,” a creative guide for seasonal outdoor entertainment. Partnering with photographer Lisa Flood, she wanted to help others re-create the magic of Jackson Hole in their own homes. With recipes, styling and entertaining tips, the book is “creative living through the seasons in the West.”
“We tried to create this book that's almost like a departure from everyday life,” Hillary said. “I hope to inspire people to create a little magic in their lives, and to step out of their comfort zone, and think outside the box… It was definitely a passion project that turned into something great.”

Three Tips for Winter Entertaining
2. Pick a warm winter night to set the table outside. Blankets and a fire will help ensure that your guests stay comfortable.
3. Look to nature for décor. In the winter, Hillary likes to forage for greenery to create simple and inexpensive arrangements that make a huge impact.
