In 1996, Wayne founded Accent Designed Homes, Inc. in Riverton, Wyoming, with a focus on residential framing, windows, exterior, and interior trim. Four years later, the family relocated to the Tetons and Accent’s momentum continued to expand into high-end residential structures and finishes. The team began full-time contracting each of their own builds by 2018. 

Today, Wayne’s wife Stacey oversees the intricate logistical workings of the office, and their son Dylan — now a partial owner of the company — works alongside his father. “You don’t see a lot of generational work happening anymore,” observed Dylan. “I got to see this work my whole life, and it’s really cool to take it on and move forward with it.”

You’re building an understanding of how they like to be taken care of.” While some clients prefer to bring other designers or team members to the process, some rely entirely on the Accent team to create their vision. “Ultimately, it’s not just about the final product, but helping clients have a positive, stress-free experience throughout the process.”

Wayne and Dylan don’t simply make a hand-off to subcontractors and move along. “We are the project management, everybody works for us, and we talk directly to them,” explained Wayne. “We’re in tune with the jobs so we know what’s going on. We put our bags on and work, we don’t just sit in the office 90% of the time. Interacting and taking part in the work is what it takes to produce the best results.”
